Private experience · San Vito Lo Capo
A private day in San Vito Lo Capo
A wide crescent of pale sand at the far tip of the province, with water that stays shallow and clear a long way out, and a mountain rising straight up behind the town.
What the day is like
San Vito Lo Capo is at the end of the road, on the cape that closes the province to the north. The setting does most of the work: a long shallow bay of pale sand, water that stays turquoise well out from the shore, and the bare rock face of Monte Monaco standing directly behind the town.
The town itself is low and white — a grid of white houses, a main street that runs down to the sea, and a shoreline that opens out at the end of it. Out of the high season it is quiet; in August it is not, and the difference is worth knowing before choosing when to go.
The drive out is part of it. The coast road from the Trapani side runs along the edge of the cape with the sea on one side and the mountains on the other, and there is more than one place worth stopping on the way.
How long you stay, when you go, and whether the day includes stops along the coast is arranged with you beforehand.

Why book it privately
Go when the day suits you
San Vito rewards arriving early or staying late, and both are difficult on a fixed schedule. Going privately means the timing can follow the season and the weather rather than a departure slot, and that the coast road on the way there can be part of the day instead of a transfer.
You travel with your own driver and nobody else on board. The route, the pace and how the day is put together are agreed with you in advance, and can be adjusted while you are there.
